Hello Everyone!

The summer has set in and so has the heat in the start-up scenario! What a month of scandals and takeovers. While ShopClues co-founder Sandeep Aggarwal cries foul about his wife's infidelity and  estranged partners taking away his voting rights, Uber President Jeff Jones quits in 7 months further deepening the crisis there, the murky tale of the Stayzilla founders arrest episode could be detrimental to 'Start up India progress but thankfully the other biggies have rallied around him to show their support.

But let’s not sound so bleak, the Modi Startup  India Mandate is undergoing a transformation, the policies are being revisited , budgetary sops, Credit guarantee for Startups of  Rs 5 Crore loan without collateral being offered, concession for start-ups and SMEs  in the Trade marks application fee and many more are in the offing. From making announcements, to follow-ups and giving the final nod the Govt of India is leaving no stone unturned for the promotion of entrepreneurship and start-ups. The latest one being a reality show for start-ups, though it may take some time to evolve, but at least coming from DIPP and Doordarshan that’s a big thing! Silicon Valley to Singapore- the new Start-up destination!

I was reading a report that according to a  150-page report by Start-up Genome project, a US-based organisation, credits Singapore's innovative policies for its success as a great start-up ecosystem – so move over Silicon Valley its Singapore which is now the preferred Start-up destination and thankfully so close to our country.

With all this and lots more happening in the Start-up scenario we hope the graph  continues to up .Leaving you guys with this funny story about the Closet Entrepreneur. Read on and keep smiling!

The Closet Entrepreneur
A woman finds herself being a bit indiscreet during the day while her husband is at work.
Her 9-year old son comes home unexpectedly, so she puts him in the closet and shuts the door.
Her husband also comes home, so she puts her gentleman friend in the closet with the little boy.

The little boy says, "Dark in here."

The man says, "Yes, it is."

Boy - "I have a baseball."

Man - "That's nice."

Boy - "Want to buy it?"

Man - "No, thanks."

Boy - "My dad's outside, I'll tell."

Man - "OK, how much?"

Boy - "$250"

In a next few weeks, it happens that the boy and the gentleman friend end up in the closet together again.

Boy - "Dark in here."
Man - "Yes, it is."

Boy - "I have a baseball glove."

The man remembering the threat from the last time, asks the boy, "How much?"

Boy - "$750"

Man - "Fine."

A few days later, it's a bright sunny day and the father says to the boy, "Grab your glove. Let's go outside and toss the baseball back and forth."

The boy says, "I can't, I sold them."

The father asks, "How much did you sell them for?"

Boy - "A thousand bucks!"

The father says, "That's terrible to overcharge your friends like that. That is way more than those two things cost. I'm going to take you to church and make you confess."

They go to the church and the father makes the little boy sit in the confession booth and he closes the door.

The boy says, "Dark in here."

The Priest says, "Now don't start that again!!"
