15 Women Entrepreneurs selected for Zone Startups India 'empoWer' Program 2017

Zone Startups India’s flagship initiative, empoWer is in its 2nd year, as an accelerator program. Launched on 1st September 2017, in partnership with Department of Science and Technology (Government of India), Social Alpha (an initiative by Tata Trusts), Microsoft, Amazon, ICICI Bank, PayU, CapitalFirst and FlexiLoans  it has received 376 applications for the accelerator program which is exclusively for women entrepreneurs .Zone Startups India built an evaluation committee comprising of 12 moments from its advisory council and industry experts, to finalise the 15 startups to be a part of this year’s program.The 6-week program will comprise of mentoring sessions, workshops, industry connects, case studies, peer-to-peer sessions, bootcamp and investor connects.
The 15 start-ups selected are:
  • Riot Solutions, a Bengaluru based startup which develops sleep monitoring solutions for babies; 
  • REVOL Inc, a startup engaged in the creation of smart wallets which is equipped with fingerprint access and smartphone connectivity; 
  • Technology Uncorked, a light IoT framework; 
  • Wowlet, offering toilet maintenance and cleaning services for home & commercial establishments; 
  • Tapu Sustainable Solutions, providing waterless urinal solutions; 
  • ICONICbot, Morph.ai ,Bizlem which are   leveraging chatbot technologies; 
  • Cygen; PregBuddy; Periwinkle; Tactopus, all revolutionizing healthcare and accessibility
  • Bitgram Technologies; Faasthelp; and The Friday Code; all solving big enterprise use cases.

- Equity Free Seed Fund of 10 Lakh for 3 women entrepreneurs
- Access to Amazon Launchpad program to exclusively market one entrepreneur to millions of Amazon customers
- Seed Investment up to 50 Lakhs by Social Alpha – an initiative by Tata Trust, to eligible entrepreneurs

- Access to Microsoft Azure cloud credits worth USD 25K for high-potential B2B start-ups
- The successful launch and application process has Government of Québec, Canada has elicited interest and the Bureau du Québec in Mumbai, has now extended its support to empoWer 2017. One selected entrepreneur from the cohort will get an opportunity to travel to Québec, Canada for a week-long mentorship and business development program to explore business opportunities.
