A new Cinema startup called Red & Yellow Film Studio

V Rajendra Singh Babu a second generation National Award winning filmmaker who has made more than 45 films in Kannada, Hindi & Telugu languages has started a movie start up called the Red & Yellow Film Studio ! Understanding the need for quality content and the surge of the online movie market he decided to start this unique cinema start-up. Partnering with former PwC partner  & Chartered accountant Vivek Mallya, he said that this is the  first time an organised effort to bring like-minded investors into a cinema start-up has happened in India.

The Studio will also be a vehicle to showcase Indian films to a global audience. The value proposition comes from alternative media such as pay-per-use TV and online movie market. The future of the entertainment business, Mallya said, will be driven in a significant way by mobile and internet users.
 
Investment Plans.They plan to raise project-based equity from multiple investors ahead of each production. The venture will promote good scripts, make use of the best Kannada literature and stories of Kannadigas based on real-life incidents. The startup also has plans to outsource scripting and dialogue-writing to select European universities. 
 
The startup's primary focus is to reach out to the global audience by providing subtitles in Indian and other foreign languages, including English, French, German and Spanish &  intends to produce 3-4 films a year with a cap of Rs 2 crore on each film. The endeavour is to encourage quality ideas, source local content and globalise them.Source:The Economic Times
