iSPIRT in partnership with global development consulting firm Dalberg and IIM Ahmedabad's CIIE is organising a 'Build on India Stack' venture pitch competition event.

What is India Stack?

India Stack is the largest application programming interface (API) in the world supported by an open API policy by the government. The stack is a new technology paradigm that is scalable to handle massive data inflows, and is poised to enable entrepreneurs, citizens and governments to interact with each other transparently, creating an ecosystem to develop innovative ideas to serve the 1.1 billion people on the platform, specifically the BOP population

The competition is looking for innovations that use the India Stack across sectors such as financial services, education, healthcare and others, with some core focus areas including digital lending and alternative credit scoring, health insurance or education loans, skilling and certification, patient-centric healthcare management, and SaaS platforms to support digi-locker or e-sign providers.
India Stack uses Aadhaar as a base for verification of an individual and delivers a set of services for identification, banking and managing digital records. It includes UPI for digital payments, e-sign to enable digital signing of documents and DigiLocker which serves as a repository of documents. India Stack was launched to push the government’s Digital India initiative.

Shortlisted start-ups get to pitch in front of Bharat innovations, the venture arm of IIM Ahmadabad’s Centre for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship, Omidyar Network and Unitus Seed Fund. The winners also get to receive funding of up to $6,000, coaching and mentorship and exclusive collaboration opportunities from them.
