According to BGR.in, Google CEO Sundar Pichai who is in India  on a private  visit is going to host a conference in New Delhi on January 4th 2017, where he is going to announce new initiatives related to small businesses and start-ups in India. The event will also be attended by IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad along with several senior Google officials.

Google has been an active player in the global start-up scenario and has launched several initiatives as part of its bid to boost small business and start-ups. Besides focusing on Indian startups, Google is also working on providing free and faster Internet to users. After rolling out Railwire Wi-Fi at Udhagamandalam (Ooty) station last week, Google successfully launched high-speed Internet to 100 of the busiest railway stations across India. According to Google, after the rollout at the 100th railway station in India, over 10 million Indians now have an access to fast Internet. Google says, with over 5 million monthly users, the Google Railtel Wi-Fi has over 15,000 first time users connecting to the network every day.The conference is the latest in a series of initiatives by Google for consolidating its presence in India.
