Kakatiya Hub for Social Innovation launched in Nizamabad

As part of the Government of Telangana’s ICT policy to encourage start-ups , IT companies to set up operations & also build two incubators in tier-II locations in the districts of Nizamabad, Karimnagar, and Medak, (also read http://startup2day.in/story-fullview/kakatiya-sandbox-for-tier2-entrepreneurship-in-telangana-)it has formally launched the first social innovation centre in Nizamabad. Called as the  ‘Kakatiya Hub For Social Innovation’, the Telangana IT Secretary, Mr Jayesh Ranjan made the announcement as part of the one-day Development Dialogue, an international social entrepreneurship ecosystem conference hosted by Kakatiya Sandbox.
 
To be built in four floors spread over 50, 000 sq.ft in Nizamabad, it will be funded by the Govt. of Telangana and implemented by Kakatiya Sandbox. The hub will work as a rural incubator to help and guide rural entrepreneurs and give them the necessary ecosystem to encourage their ideas and boost entrepreneurship even at the grassroots level.
 
It will function in the same manner as any incubator in the country and will be supported by the Kakatiya Sandbox founder Mr. Raju Reddy ( Entrepreneur, founder & former CEO - Sierra Atlantic ), Mr.Phanindra Sama (Redbus founder), who is also the co-founder of Kakatiya Sandbox & Dr.Deshpande, founder of the Deshpande Foundation which introduced the Sandbox concept in India 10 years ago. The Sandbox ecosystem was created with an aim to provide a nurturing environment that can foster social innovation and entrepreneurship & encourage start-up ideation in the rural areas.
