Local ShopKirana gets Japanese seed funding

Japan’s leading seed investment firm Incubate Fund  India which entered India as an anchor investor  with a fund worth $91 million  has made its first investment in India  in a B2B FMCG platform called ShopKirana. ShopKirana is an Indore based startup cofounded by Sumit Ghorawat  in 2014.
 
The platform  helps the local groceries and stores improve their business by partnering with leading FMCG brands. The start-up which has over 5,000 kirana stores on their platform, processes more than 200 plus orders a day in Indore. 
 
An estimated  Rs 3 crore has been invested in this round where Incubate Fund India is the lead investor which plans to support the huge grocery market and empower the small retailers do bigger business in India.
 
Besides Japan, Incubate Fund has a presence in Southeast Asia.
