What is the GES?
The Global Entrepreneurship Summit is a preeminent annual entrepreneurship gathering by the Govt. of the United States of America that convenes emerging entrepreneurs, investors, and supporters from around the world. Organised annually since 2010, the Summit has been organised across the world from Washington D.C. to Istanbul, Dubai, Marrakech, Nairobi, Kuala Lumpur, Silicon Valley, and now finally Hyderabad.

GES Theme: ‘Women First, Prosperity for All’
The theme of GES this year is ‘Women First, Prosperity for All,’ which highlights that when women do better, countries do better.
The summit essentially aims to support women entrepreneurs and foster economic growth globally. Also, this year the summit will primarily focus on sectors such as Energy & Infrastructure, Healthcare & Life Sciences, Financial Technology & Digital Economy and Media & Entertainment.
Investing in women entrepreneurs not only fuels economic growth, but also drives innovation to address the critical challenges communities are facing worldwide. Women leaders in entrepreneurship, innovation and investment also hold the key to fostering prosperous and dynamic societies.
What to expect
Through two and half days of training and mentoring sessions, networking, and investment matchmaking, the United States and India will forge new collaborations and launch new initiatives, while reducing the barriers inhibiting international growth and innovation. As shared in an official statement by the GES 2017 committee, the event will highlight current state of Indian start-up and tech ecosystem, encouraging its inhabitants for innovation and entrepreneurship – including actions by the government to increase the ease of doing business, eliminating unnecessary regulations and supporting start-ups.
